Teaching
2009: Biomolecular Modeling and Computations (生物分子模拟与计算)
Research interests
The goal is to combine physics and computational approaches to quantitatively understand biomolecular interaction properties and behaviors, supply numerical tools for these studies, and ultimately enhance the capability of computational biology to predict the realistic biological world and to apply to biomedical engineering. The current work are on:

Continuum model for solvation phenomena and biomolecular system interaction/dynamics. |
| Numerical methods and software developments for electrostatics (AFMPB solver) and diffusion-reaction processes (PNP solver) from molecular to cellular scales: finite element and boundary element methods, fast multipole method, mesh generation for macromolecular surface. |
| Molecular dynamics simulation studies of variety of biosystems. |
Research is
supported by grants from "One hundred talent program" of
Chinese Academy of Science, NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China), State
Key Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing (LSEC)
in the Institute of Computational Mathematics
and Scientific/Engineering Computing. Available computer resources: Computational
cluster (512 nodes), a SGI O3800 server, workstations (SGI Origin and
Shuguang) of ICMSEC, and PCs/workstations in our group.

Relevant background is preferred and can be in any of these areas: computational math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, or engineering.
