Biomolecular Modeling and Computations (生物分子模拟与计算)


Research interests

The goal is to combine physics and computational approaches to quantitatively understand biomolecular interaction properties and behaviors, supply numerical tools for these studies, and ultimately enhance the capability of computational biology  to predict the realistic biological world and to apply to biomedical engineering. The current work are on:

Continuum model for ionic solution, solvation phenomena and biomolecular system interaction/dynamics.

Numerical methods and software developments:for simulation of electrostatics (AFMPB solver, beta version released) and diffusion-reaction processes (PNP solver ichannel) from molecular to cellular scales using (parallel) finite element and boundary element methods, fast multipole method and so on. Molecular surface and volume mesh generation (Meshing tools), the surface mesh generation program TMSmesh is released). Visualization tool MMV(designed for visualization of biomolecule, mesh, and computational results, and also for interface to programs developed for continuum modeling)。 Visual and analysis program VCMM (to be released soon).

Postdoc positions available: simulation study of ion channels and nanopores. Numerical and model studies are also welcome.
