Research Interests
My research focuses on advancing the theory and practice of optimization, with a core emphasis on developing efficient algorithms for complex, large-scale problems. I am particularly interested in nonlinear nonsmooth optimization, manifold optimization, and their variants in distributed computing environments — all aimed at addressing challenges across several fields:
Machine Learning: Designing robust methods for stochastic training of neural networks, decentralized (federated) learning systems, and bilevel optimization.
Scientific Computing: Building reliable numerical tools for linear systems, eigenvalue problems, first-principles electronic structure calculation and crystal structure relaxation.
Data Science: Applying optimization techniques to high-dimensional data analysis and statistical data analysis.
