PRINCIPAL GUIDELINE OF THE APPLIED NUMERICAL ALGEBRA PRIZE
PRINCIPAL GUIDELINE: 1. The Prize is awarded to at most two academic papers written by Chinese scientists, working in the field of Applied Numerical Algebra in China. They must have obtained a Master or Doctoral degree within the last 7 years. 2. The Prize is to be awarded at every NASC conference to at most two winners. Each winner will receive a plaque, a certificate, and a monetary award donated by members of the Prize Committee. 3. Young scientists satisfying the requirements in Item 1 can apply for the Prize by sending the Prize Committee two hard copies and PDF files of the following material: recommendation letters from three full professors excluding the thesis advisor(s) and the current prize committee members, one journal-published paper, a short academic CV, and the Master or Doctoral diploma. 4. Any jointly authored paper must be accompanied by letters from the co-authors certifying that the candidate played a major role in the work. 5. The deadline for applications is the 15th of March in the selection year. 6. Up to four candidates for the Prize will be selected based on the application and the merits of the submitted academic paper. The candidates should present their papers at the NASC conference. The presentation of these finalists at the NASC meeting will be taken into account when selecting the winners for the Prize. 7. The winners will be selected by the Prize Committee and announced during the conference. 8. Local costs during the conference period and a return train ticket (up to the cost of a hard-sleeping seat for general train or a second class seat for high-speed train) between the candidate's working institution and the conference site will be covered. 9. This regulation is a revision of the version issued on May 1st, 2006, and is valid from November 1st, 2018. The right of explanation of the regulation belongs to the Prize Committee.
