Research Interests

My recent research mainly focuses on numerical methods for optimization problems with orthogonality constraints including linear and nonlinear eigenvalue problems. The theoretical and computational studies on nonlinear least squares probems related to phase retrieval, matrix factorization and deep learning always attract my attention. I am also interested in distributed optimization approaches which cater to the increasing demands of high performance computing arising from various science and engineering areas.
