THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON

NUMERICAL ALGEBRA AND SCIENTIFIC COMPUTING

 (NASC08)

Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing,  November 2(Sun.)–5(Wed.), 2008

Linear Algebra and its Applications is pleased to announce a special issue devoted to papers presented at The Second International Conference on Numerical Algebra and Scientific Computing (NASC08) held on Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing, P.R. China, during November 2—5, 2008.

NASC is an international conference organized by the Chinese numerical algebra group starting from 2006. The conference highlights recent advances in theoretical, computational and practical aspects of linear and nonlinear numerical algebra. The aim of the conference is to gather experts in numerical algebra and scientific computing to exchange ideas and discuss future developments and trends of these closely related fields. The topics of NASC08 include, but are not limited to: solution of linear and nonlinear equations; least-squares problems; solution of eigenvalue problems; parallel computation; construction and analysis of preconditioners; methods and theory for structured matrices; and applications of numerical algebraic techniques and algorithms. As an important event, the best paper prize for young scientists working on numerical algebra and scientific computing will be awarded during the conference.

Papers should be based on talks given at the conference. The deadline for submission is June 30, 2009 and papers will be refereed according to LAA's usual standard.

Papers may be submitted in form of a pdf-file to any of the special editors:
